South Africa is a country on the southernmost tip of the African continent, marked by several distinct ecosystems. Inland safari destination Kruger National Park is populated by big game. Blyderivierspoort Nature Reserve stretches from the pinnacle near to Graskop to Swadini in the north.

The magnificent Blyde River Canyon, a gigantic gorge, is one of the natural wonders of Africa.

These cliffs are dominated by three circular projections called the Three Sisters or Three Rondawels.

Don’t miss Bourke’s Luck Potholes – deep cylindrical cavities formed by river erosion and flood water action.

God’s Window provides a view that is one of life’s great experiences (weather & conditions permitting).

Day 5
Breakfast at your hotel

You will be met at your hotel by your driver and tour guide for a Private Cape Town City Tour.

Ascend Table Mountain/Signal Hill for unforgettable sweeping views (weather permitting).

Return to the city and pass through the Malay Quarter.

Drive past the Castle of Good Hope, Houses of Parliament and the Company Gardens.

Travel to Sea Point and Camp’s Bay for scenic ocean vistas.

Lunch at a local Indian restaurant.

Enjoy a visit to Robben Island.

The standard tour to Robben Island is 3.5 hours long, including the two half-hour ferry rides. Ferries depart at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm, from the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town (weather permitting).

The Robben Island Tour includes: A return boat trip across Table Bay, A visit to the infamous Maximum-Security Prison, Interaction with an ex-political prisoner, and a 45-minute bus ride with a guide providing commentary, the opportunity to explore the Murray’s Bay Harbour precinct attractions, such as the Muslim shrine, or kramat, and the Museum Shop.

Day 6

You will be collected at your hotel by your driver-guide for a Private Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour.

Travel at a pace that allows you to explore the beauty of the Cape Peninsula.

Depart for the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve along one of South Africa’s most scenic routes, passing Hout Bay.

Enjoy a cruise to Seal Island, to view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island (weather permitting). Tours depart at 08h45, 09h45, 11h00, 12h45, 14h45 or 15h45. During summer, several thousand Cape Fur Seals – along with the rare Black Cormorant – lollop leisurely among the kelp beds.

Travel along Chapman’s Peak Drive (conditions permitting).

Visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

The scenery en route to Cape Point, at the South Western tip of the reserve, is particularly lovely in spring when wildflowers carpet the landscape.

The new lighthouse – the most powerful in the world – beams an electric light of 19 million candle power across the ocean.

Ascend to the top of by Funicular.

Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

The Treetop Canopy Walkway gives visitors the opportunity to experience the forest from high above the ground. The galvanised steel structure meanders through trees and branches, with sections that crown above the forest.

Embark on a ferry trip aboard the pleasure boat, the John Benn (weather permitting).

The John Benn is a double-decker floating restaurant offering daily Lagoon cruises to the Knysna Heads.
